Innovative Academy and Wroxton Holding organized the Shark Tank Yogyakarta program, a competition that offers students the opportunity to present their business ideas to secure investment from individuals with extensive business experience and significant financial resources. In this program, the winning team will receive a total funding of 25 million.
After going through several phases of proposal collection and selection, Shark Tank held Pitch Day (9/3) at the Auditorium of Hotel Pulang ke Uttara, attended by investors ready to provide funding. In this pitching session, the business idea themes presented by participants included Innovation and Technology, Eco-Friendly and Sustainable products, cyber security solutions, AI and Machine Learning for security, and Financial Technology.
Mudamudi.corp and Waste and Wishes, two startups from Innovative Academy, also participated and emerged as winners. Mudamudi.corp is a service unit of a Cooperative Agency engaged in Digital Services, focusing on creative digital services such as website creation, social media optimization, branding, and IT system software services, operating in the East Java region. Waste and Wishes, on the other hand, is a startup providing household waste and restaurant waste management services, both organic and inorganic. In this competition, Mudamudi.corp won first place and received 10 million Rupiah, while Waste and Wishes won third place and received funding of 5 million Rupiah.
In this competition, Denny Wijayanto, Head of Program at Innovative Academy, also contributed to the event with a sharing session. Denny explained, ‘Success doesn’t come instantly. It’s important to have a clear vision, perseverance, and a willingness to continuously learn and adapt to change. The ideas must be continuously developed and validated to remain relevant to the rapidly evolving industry needs,’ he said.
From this event, it is hoped that these startups can develop their ideas and expand their businesses to become unicorn startups. (Doc: IA/Author: Ailsa Isnania)
