One of the startups supported by Innovative Academy UGM, Ruang Halal, represented UGM in the Startup Go Global Program held in Brisbane, Australia, from June 23-28, 2024. This program was facilitated by the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs to support the optimization of local startups and expand international cooperation networks for incubator institutions in Indonesia. Dedy, the CEO of Ruang Halal, expressed his pride in this opportunity and thanked Innovative Academy UGM for their guidance. Ruang Halal, which operates in the halal economy sector, offers services such as halal consulting, a halal marketplace, and a halal export hub. Since its establishment in 2020, they have helped around 300 SMEs obtain halal certification for free and served paid clients both domestically and internationally. They also participated in the Indonesian halal product exhibition in Brunei Darussalam from June 26-30, 2024, facilitated by the Indonesian Embassy and the Central Java Provincial State-Owned Enterprise House. Dedy emphasized that this success would not have been possible without the role of Innovative Academy UGM and that Ruang Halal will continue to innovate to help Indonesia become a global halal hub.
