The subject of Product Market Fit was expounded upon by Mr. Alwy Herfian S, the Co-founder of Widya Indonesia Group. His presentation commenced with a sharing of insights and experiences related to the development of startup ventures within the Widya Indonesia Group. The group’s startup portfolio spans diverse fields, including IoT, Robotics, AI, and others, with a notable 75% involvement in the construction sector, where numerous implementations have been realized within the context of IKN (presumably an organization or institution). The mentor elaborated on the interconnected phases of achieving Product Market Fit and Problem Solution Fit, each phase serving to address and rectify shortcomings from previous stages.
The mentoring activity for the Innovative Academy Incubation Program was conducted on the 14th of September 2023, at the EDS Building, Universitas Gadjah Mada. The esteemed mentor for this session was Mr. Fadli Wilihandarwo, the Founder of SchoolStartup, and the chosen theme of the day was “Product Development.”
In collaboration with #Hack4ID, the Incubation Program at Gadjah Mada University once again took place in Yogyakarta. This initiative was organized with the objective of aiding industry stakeholders in addressing regional and industrial challenges through the innovative potential of aspiring startup founders.
HackSprint is an approach that fosters the swift and efficient development of products or projects. It combines the term “hack,” which refers to creative and solution-oriented methods, with “sprint,” signifying a focused effort to achieve goals within a limited timeframe. In a HackSprint, teams or individuals are presented with specific challenges to solve in a short span, typically spanning from a few days to a few weeks.
The Innovative Academy, in collaboration with #Hack4ID, hosted a kick-off event during the first meeting of the startup incubation series. This online event saw the participation of 78 startup participants and talents, all geared up to transform their brilliant ideas into actual startups.

The Startup Grant is a funding program by the Directorate of Business Development and Incubation in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) aimed at promoting downstream development on campuses. Through the PRIME STeP program, the Directorate of Business Development and Incubation, through the Innovative Academy, will provide support not only through mentorship, co-working space, worldwide networking, but also funding for multiple years and access to UGM resources (laboratories, research, business units, etc.).

Demo day marks the culmination of the incubation process by the Innovative Academy. Within a span of one semester, nine startups have emerged that have managed to persevere and secure the opportunity to engage in pitching sessions.
