
Yogyakarta, December 9, 2024 – To maximize support for the growth of ecosystems and the capabilities of startups, Innovative Academy organized a series of workshops, collaborating with several prominent speakers from leading companies. During the first week of December 2024, two workshops were successfully conducted with great enthusiasm, one of which was the Startup Ecosystem Workshop. Held at GAIA Cosmo Hotel Yogyakarta, participants included not only internal startup teams from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) but also other startups and students eager to learn about contemporary topic. The Director of Business Development, Dr. Hargo Utomo, M.B.A., welcomed the participants and officially opened the event. In his remarks, he expressed pride in hosting various incubation support activities, including this workshop.
“This workshop represents our commitment to supporting the sustainability of startup ecosystems both within and beyond UGM, with the hope that all segments of society can participate and get benefit from these initiatives,” said Dr. Hargo Utomo, M.B.A.
The first session of the workshop focused on the challenges faced by startups in building sustainable and scalable businesses. Discussions and sharing sessions were facilitated by notable speakers such as Arif Fajar Saputra (CEO & Co-Founder of Nuxcle), Dara Mawar Jelita (Programme Manager of Block 71), Prastyo Ruandhito (CEO & Co-Founder of BroilerX), and Yasa Nugroho (CEO & Founder of Xerpihan). The session provided valuable insights into strategies for sustaining business operations amidst dynamic market demands.
The second session featured a keynote presentation by Farid Arkan, a Consulting Analyst at Deloitte Digital SEA. The session focused on growth hacking strategies, particularly for technology startups, emphasizing methods to achieve rapid business growth with minimal costs. The discussion included frameworks like the AARRR metrics (Acquisition/Awareness, Activation, Retention, Referral, and Revenue) to guide startups in prioritizing critical elements of their business strategies.
The final session created opportunities for startups in the Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) to expand their networks and collaborate with the Komunitas Startup Jogja. The panel discussion included contributions from Farid Ramadhani M., S.E. (Program Coordinator at SEBI UMY), Donni Prabowo, M.Kom., M.B.A. (Executive Director of ABP Incubator), and Bagus Panuntun, S.E., M.B.A. (Director of IBISMA UII). The discussion, moderated by Ade Rahadian, Founder of Komunitas Startup Jogja, highlighted the significance of community platforms and incubators in fostering the sustainability and development of startups.
