Yogyakarta, December 10, 2024 – The grand finale of the Innovation Challenge, Demo Day, was successfully hosted by Innovative Academy on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at GAIA Cosmo Hotel. Demo Day marked the conclusion of the incubation period for Batch 14 of the Innovation Challenge, providing a platform for startups to present their innovative ideas to a panel of experts.
A total of 16 selected startups showed off their innovative ideas, they are Denteksi, VeggieBox, Metaseaco, Ecopia.id, Zona Rescue, GAMAPALAPA, Integrated Genome Factory (IGF), Chilts Beauty, KhumKhum, GenZet, Angkut Ternak, SAMPAI, Lentera Desa, VISTA, Talkplay, and KirimObat. Startup teams showcased their progress over the eight-week incubation period with Innovative Academy, covering various aspects of business development, strategic planning, and technical advancements such as prototyping.
Demo Day served as an opportunity for startups from diverse fields to network with each other and with venture capital partners, opening doors for business expansion and investment opportunities. The panelists at the event included Adhia Ighani (Senior Legal, BRI Ventures), Andyka Kasyidi Latief (Co-Founder and CEO, Pajak.io), Elvina Tjandra (Investment Associate, ANGIN), and Farid Arkan (Consulting Analyst, Deloitte Digital SEA).
At the event’s conclusion, the panelists expressed their appreciation for the engaging and dynamic presentations. “The Demo Day was interactive, and many innovative ideas were presented by the startups—overall, it was great,” said Farid Arkan, one of the panelists. The panelists also provided valuable suggestions to help startups position themselves effectively for investors and craft compelling stories. This guidance aims to assist startups in clarifying their business processes and ideas to the audience, ensuring they are realistic and address actual problems. “The context of an idea is a crucial element that startups must articulate. Not everyone comes from the same field as the idea being presented, so using simpler language and realistic figures is essential,” added Elvina Tjandra.
Demo Day marked the final session of the 14th incubation period conducted by Innovative Academy. Supported by Universitas Gadjah Mada, the incubation program aims to provide startups with networking opportunities and new knowledge to transform their business ideas into innovative solutions grounded in addressing real-world social and environmental challenges.
