Innovative Academy Universitas Gadjah Mada participated in the MSIB Batch 6 Program in collaboration with the National Movement of 1000 Digital Startups of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia (Kominfo RI). The MSIB kickoff was conducted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology via Zoom on February 16. The activities continued with the signing of the MoU (February 20), held at the Auditorium of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology in Jakarta, inviting all industrial partners, ministries, and universities. IA UGM, together with Kominfo, attended the event. Dr. Wachyu Hari Haji, Head of the MSIB Batch 6 Program, expressed his highest gratitude and appreciation to the MSIB Program Partners, all Universities for their support in the success of the MSIB Program. “MSIB is one of the superior programs of MBKM, which emerged due to the lack of knowledge of skills and work attitudes after students enter the business world. MSIB is not only beneficial for students, but companies can also utilize this program as a talent search program, and Universities can obtain new knowledge about what is needed in the job market and continue to update their teaching curriculum to be more relevant to those needs,” said Wahyu. Wahyu continued, “To date, there are more than 900 partners involved in this MSIB Batch 6, accommodating more than 128 thousand students from various universities in Indonesia. Today, we conducted a cooperation agreement to strengthen collaboration with universities and industrial partners, and we will also listen to good stories from previous batch alumni.” Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc., DIC, Ph.D., IPU, ASEAN.Eng. as the Acting Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, emphasized that this activity is one of the answers to the problem where there are many university graduates who are not ready for work. “Therefore, let us together prepare earnestly the best talents from our students who can be honed for the future for the progress of both universities and industries. We will create excellent, intelligent, and quality resources,” concluded Nizam. As a further series, Ignition was conducted, which is the Kick Off for Certified Independent Study of the National Movement of 1000 Digital Startups (February 24), a collaboration between Kominfo and IA UGM with the theme: The Role of Young Innovators in Achieving Indonesia Digital 2045 via Zoom.
