General Information
The Startup Grant is a funding program by the Directorate of Business Development and Incubation in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) aimed at promoting downstream development on campuses. Through the PRIME STeP program, the Directorate of Business Development and Incubation, through the Innovative Academy, will provide support not only through mentorship, co-working space, worldwide networking, but also funding for multiple years and access to UGM resources (laboratories, research, business units, etc.).
Objectives
– To provide support and facilities to startup founders for conducting market or user research more quickly using cutting-edge tools, thereby enhancing the accuracy of early-stage research.
– To provide support and facilities to startup founders for exploring deep tech innovation aligned with the developments of Industry 4.0 technology.
– To assist in accelerating startups for scale-up through partnerships, both with business units owned by Universitas Gadjah Mada, strategic industry partners, and government entities, as well as the community.
Proposer Requirements :
General Requirements
– Participants can be students, lecturers, educational staff/employees, alumni of Universitas Gadjah Mada, and the general public affiliated with Universitas Gadjah Mada, possessing diverse backgrounds (trans, inter, and/or multidisciplinary).
– The number of participants in a startup team is 2 or more, with at least 1 female member.
– Participants are required to have innovation- and technology-based products with business value.
– Participants can demonstrate and explain products that have achieved product-market fit.
– Participants are willing to provide a statement committing to completing the startup grant program and being accountable for fund usage according to Universitas Gadjah Mada’s regulations.
– Participants are open to engaging in collaboration schemes with Universitas Gadjah Mada through subsidiaries or business units of Universitas Gadjah Mada.
– Participants must submit a pitch deck/proposal within the specified deadline.
– The submitted pitch deck/proposal should not be currently under consideration for other funding schemes.
Administrative Requirements
– Attach a pitch deck containing information: problem, solution, UVP or USP, Business/Revenue Model, Milestone/Traction/Revenue/Profit, Road Map, Funding Allocation, and Team Background. In a single pitch deck, a maximum of 7 slides should be created in PDF format.
– The submission of the startup grant should be in the form of a budget plan (RAB) with a nominal value of up to 250 million rupiah for one startup. The startup grant program is activity-based, with the final evaluation based on activities approved within this program, following the regulations of Universitas Gadjah Mada.
