In line with the inauguration of the Startup Incubation Program, Innovative Academy collaborated with Future Skills to organize an event on March 4, 2023, with the theme “Vision, Team Building, and Why Build a Startup.” The event was attended by 70 participants online and 21 participants in person. The activity lasted for 3 hours and included an introduction session, mentor presentations, discussion and Q&A sessions, as well as a mini-tour at Innovative Academy.
The opening ceremony of this incubation program was initiated by Mr. Danny Wibisana and led by Mr. Denny Wijayanto, the Innovation Lead and mentor on the first day. The focus of this meeting was on the upcoming 12-week startup incubation program and the methods to develop innovation for creating a startup. The startup development process consists of three phases: pre-incubation, incubation, and acceleration. Pre-incubation involves idea generation, concept refinement, and ideation development. Incubation entails mentoring for idea development, while acceleration focuses on further development and sponsor support for startups.
Throughout the process, many aspiring startups fail to develop their ideas due to various reasons. Therefore, startup pioneers must remain consistent and possess an entrepreneurial spirit. According to the mentor, “To cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset, the first step is to identify problems as a form of research. Then, technology is needed to discover radical solutions that will become the foundation for developing a startup.”
Broadly speaking, the startup process begins with three stages: hypothesis (creating unproven analyses), exploration (gathering information from hypotheses, including creating a business model), forming a team consisting of core roles (hipster, hacker, and hustler), and finally, execution. Through the inaugural meeting in this event, five promising startup talents have already formulated their ideas. Throughout the program, participants are expected to discover the purpose and objectives of their pioneering startups and find a team to develop those ideas.
